Chinese New Year Trip

Mr. Shelby, the 9th grade global history teacher, arranged a trip for the 9 top students in Global History. The students who attended included: Maria Guzman, Kimado McDonald, Shequile Perry, Denisse Cotto, Victor Otero, Ana Mejia, James Toe, Cheryrell Epps, and Sheik Ceesay. The students went to Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, February 7th. Since it was the Chinese New Year, the students saw a beautiful performance honor- ing the Chinese New Year. It was a fun, unique, and beautiful performance. We saw many breathtaking dances and learned how to say “Happy New Year” in Chinese. The performances were very strong and incorporated all types of instruments. What I thought was especially beautiful was the background. Every performance included a different moving background. My favorite background depicted the sky and the ocean. I loved the costumes worn by the performers. Hopefully, the students will continue being the top students, and we will go on other trips.
